Art & Architecture Design Days

Max 24 pupils All Day Activity

Developed to help spatial awareness and visualisation skills of KS 3, 4 and 6th form students.

In particular the three-dimensional perception of space and how it relates to visual form is the focus of our one day courses, which are designed to be accommodated into the school timetable and aimed at those considering further study in architecture, interiors, 3D design, or similar design disciplines. Students are asked to consider, discuss and evaulate their work with our facilitator and one another. The Design Days are run as 1, 3 or 5 day courses.

Throughout the course students are asked to consider, discuss, and evaluate their work, both with our facilitator and one another. Perfect for students embarking on the new Diploma in Construction and The Built Environment

Students explore the spatial relationship between art and architecture, through hands-on activities which introduce the idea of scale and ergonomics, culminating in a series of abstract spatial maquettes.

The spatial interventions of 3D art and architecture are explored through precedent study with the students
developing their ideas further as abstract art and architecture. Introducing site and locality, students are given a design brief and evolve their ideas based on their experiences of the site and its surrounding environment.

Students consider environmental impact of their designs in relation to existing urban developments and green field sites. Designing and scale model making to fit site model. Presentation of completed work on the final afternoon, where possible, to students, staff, and parents.
